Cognitive Map of the Enterprise of the Future (under development)

Becoming an Enterprise of the Future means focusing on four areas of transformation:

  • Leadership new business ecosystems and strategies
  • Organization new organizational designs
  • Learning new living, working, and learning environments
  • Technology technology infrastructure nexus

Although very few enterprises will truly excel in all four areas, it is more important to first strive for balance, then build from there.

We have built our model for the Enterprise of the Future on four "pillars," the foundational principles of knowledge management developed at the George Washington University Institute for Knowledge and Innovation, and described in the book: Creating the Discipline of Knowledge Management, Michael Stankosky, ed.  These are leadership, organization, learning, and technology:

Fundamentally, these four pillars have been present in every viable enterprise throughout recorded history, and will continue to be, well into the future.  But how they are applied can change dramatically as we move from one era to another.  Getting the transition right is critical.

For a description of each pillar, see:  Leadership         Organization         Learning         Technology
